Hey Spinks, there is a nice write up over on Tank Spot (I think Cinderhelm post it?) about a warrior build that permits a warrior to tank this guy without kiting. Taking the kiting aspect out of the encounter really simplifies it :)

If I recall correctly you need to have 2/2 Improved Disciplines, and both the Last Stand and Shield Wall glyphs. I think.

It's been a while since I looked into a warrior tanking this because we have both a Death Knight and a Feral Druid that raid regularly and we opted to go with that option for tanking since it's easier for both of those two classes to tank and avoid having to kite.

Oh! And grats on the new kills!

I'm really enjoying Ulduar. The bosses have great variety and the trash doesn't feel like filler just to lengthen it. Blizzard did a great job but I hope it's the last raid with different loot (we already know about emblems) for 10 and 25. I've cleared through Yogg on both and 10 isn't inherently easier. Some fights are easier and some are harder.

Regarding Vesax, it didn't work for us to have the tank eat it during the surge. Even with a DK putting up Icebound Fortitude he can still take multiple hits of 25k in less then 2 seconds time. That makes it a matter of luck whether the heals interleave with the damage in just the right way and the healers can't spam on this fight.

Reading your post made me sit back a tiny second, and now I've realized I just love Ulduar. Heck, I can't wait to go there tonight. The only thing I got on my schedule is to hurl fireballs at Yogg25, so I'm all giggly and cheerful. My guild's been progressing so well during the last weeks, it really does make me proud.
Ah, Ulduar I love you.

I love the fact that many of the encounters have mechanics that reward situational awareness. Blue runes, camp fires, etc :)

Riding a bike is something I won't do in Ulduar (OK, if that's the last achievement, I'll do it). I'm pretty fine with the siege engine gunnery. Die lashers die!

Try not kiting on Vezax. Not sure what you have to work with, but you can use a defensive cooldown on each surge (Shield Wall, etc). Paladins and Holy/Disc Priests have external cooldowns you can use (Hand of Sacrifice, etc.). You'll have to coordinate cooldowns, but it's a much easier strategy if your tank can survive the hits.

I'm currently at a rough spot. Currently working on the last 2 hardmodes to get to 25-man algalon and Freya is proving to be one tough mama jama. Been a week now and Mimiron is right after and his hardmode is a flat out nightmare! But it has been a long fun run, though I have seen some epic burnout from the tier 8 content from other people
