Warriors are a very fun class but, like you said, kinda left in the dust compared to more versatile classes like Druids or Paladins.

It's interesting to read that the devs want people to change stances regularly... I almost never change stance. If they want to encourage it then they could really do with improving the UI a little and making it more intuitive to do quickly.

This entire post nails it on the head. Especially:

"I freaking hate macros. I particularly don’t want to feel forced to write macros to play my class as well as another class that doesn’t need them. Pointless chains of button pressing are pointless."

QFMFT!

That entire thing is the main reason I abandoned my warrior, who was my main back in TBC. I saw that DKs had stances that worked how stances SHOULD have worked the entire time, so I played a DK instead. Plus, a DK is a warrior who can heal himself and actually has defensive cooldowns. The only advantage warriors have over them is Charge-oh wait-Death Grip. If it weren't for MS, warriors, would just be a flat-out 100% inferior class to DKs in every way. Major design disaster. Then look at all of the other melee dps classes and see that their interrupts and defensive abilities can be used at any time without macros, and warriors suddenly look very unappealing, no matter how fun they can be. Sometimes I still miss charging around, but other than that I'm just glad I switched to a class that wasn't so completely crippled by the dev's commitment to old outdated design decisions. They need a smoother gear scaling curve, some ability to self-heal, the ability to defend themselves without complex macros, and better stance functionality.

As you were saying how warriors need to switch stances to do lots of PvP stuff I thought "so? Make a simple macro for those types of abilities, not hard!" Then it hit me: with no other class do I need to use macros just for baseline abilities. Other classes they're a lot of help, but half the time they're just to compress my hotkeys.

I absolutely agree on macros, if they are necessary they should be integrated into the UI, like many addons that became actually not-so-optional. Ideally, get rid of too much addons, even get rid of them at all. Give users ample ways to customize the UI and leave it at that.

I think you nailed the problem, if all classes shall be equal tanks, then the pure warrior without spells falls behind, despite the shouts. They also gave Paladins and Death Knights too many goodies and too many roles right now.

They are moving towards a classless system in a world build for class systems. If they want to improve their class system, they need to give their classes more specialities and not make them more interchangeable. This is a fundamental problem I have with Ghostcrawler. He would make a so much better Community Manager than designer, I like his player communication a lot, but not his design ideas. ;)

This is why I am still sceptical of dual-specs. Give players the ability to do okay in their spec, do not basically ask them to switch around as needed.

They have a class based system, they cannot really even think of abandoning it in favor of making classes more equal. They cannot change WoW that much, it cannot do good to the game.
