For the record, SOE has had cross-server chat for years -- certainly in EQ2 and SWG and I'm sure EQ probably boasts it as well, not to mention their various other games. It can be a little unwieldy at times, but it's handy all the same -- you can send tells and whatnot, as you'd expect, but you can also join other-server chat channels and stuff. It's a really handy feature; not one you think about most of the time, but one you often wish you had in other multi-server games.

I'm hoping Champions Online continues a single-server trend. Surely there's got to be ways to accommodate that without too much difficulty these days, at least for medium-sized games (not talking WoW here, that would take a server farm the size of the moon).

All GW2 info is a bit speculative, but initially they wanted to reduce the number of heroes/companions to ONE. Heroes are very popular in Guild Wars 1, customizable henchmen with personality just rock.

The problem was the heroes got so good that many players soon only played with their favorite heroes. :)

I am pretty excited about all this, but I am NOT sure if WoW's guild levels will not just be an extension of the achievement system that will annoy the hell out of me.
