I love remembering how still-British some of our little ways are in New England. I grew up in Maine, and we definitely say “going to town” when we mean to whatever place houses the local shopping center.

There are others too, but for some reason just when I want to remember them, I’m drawing a big blank. 4.30 am probably has something to do with it.

So off topic, but I just couldn’t help myself.

I was amongst the group, but I don’t think we were formally introduced.

I probably should have paid more attention to the big titles, but I was too excited by the New Mario Bros. Wii game being so much like a classic Mario platformer.

The platformy bits in Uncharted aren’t generally that hard to do; often the challenge is finding the places where you can pull off some fancy climbing. I suppose some hardcore gamers might fault these segments for being too easy but they feel ‘right’ to me when playing them. Plus you don’t want to have to try/fail/retry dozens of times in this game because you’re so anxious to see what happens next.

Uncharted 2 really is that good throughout. My game of year so far. The original isn’t too far off either, and should probably be played first.

Ok, so it’s gaming at its most highly authored and linear, but what a ride!
