Nice post, i dodged around this title going through EQ2,Vanguard,Pirates,SWG,DDO and Fallen Earth and i was about to give up on MMOs thinking i’m just burnt out….and then i got myself LOTRO. I geniunely think Turbine did a brilliant job bringing the book and movies to life.

And i’ve just realised what i missed in MMOs: A plot, a story and a “reason to adventure”. I don’t care about LOTRO’s “end game” , i want to be grabbed while i level and LOTRO is doing it.

Other MMOs you start playing and you feel like there’s nothing there until max level, why must it be so?

This i hope is what Bioware is gonna do. Get the story, make me level with a purpose, to “advance the story” , if there’s nothing at the “end game”, tough, at least i would say “the journey up there was awesome”.

Whee, hope you enjoy it and look forwards to hearing about it. For me, it works really well as a casual player. It is a very different pace of game from WoW (which feels like a constant sugar rush in comparison).
