Ah, Twitter. I love it, but it is sometimes more of an annoyance than a pleasure. I follow a great many people and a few different "groups" but the WoW tweeters are really, REALLY chatty. So much so that if I only check in on Twitter a few times a day (typical for a workday), I miss dozens and dozens of WoW-related Tweets in the middle of the coy flirting and slight RP and constant retweets of WoW.com stuff and such. Eh.

On the other hand, I love seeing the "other side" of WoW players. I enjoy status updates that let me know what else you guys do other than play WoW. Just not at a tweet-a-minute pace.

Anyway, I'm @ladygypsy and my Twitter is about 70% RL/30% WoW.

I find that sometimes I can ask a simple question on Twitter and get an answer within minutes like once when we had slimed on eotgace bugging. And got people confirming it happened to them too. If I have missed any tank Twitter bloggers, let me know.

I must admit that I'm not entirely certain that I'm using Twitter "right" either, but I tend to use it for random musings that may or may not interest anyone in particular (so IM would be the wrong tool) and too short to warrant a blog post.

In addition to people that <a href="http://twitter.com/Hirvox/following" rel="nofollow">I personally follow</a>, I also follow the Eve-specific TweetFleet (<a href="http://twitter.com/00sage00/tweetfleet" rel="nofollow">list</a>, <a href="http://twitter.com/#search?q=%23tweetfleet" rel="nofollow">hashtag</a>). Quite often it's the fastest way to learn of new developments like interalliance drama, big battles and other events.

That's a good idea about trying to summarise anything interesting on twitter, I may try that for a week or two and see how it goes.

It's not about e-peen, from what I can see. Think of it as being like guild chat except that if people annoy you, you can just stop following them.

Call me oldfashioned and backwards but I really don't get it. I wrote about that a year ago at my blog and it still hasn't dawned upo me.

I've been looking a bit at the tweets that some of my favorite bloggers publish, looking at it in a normal webbrowser, trying to catch up. But all I see is a rather mindless babbling where you just shout out whatever insignificant thing that comes to your mind... for what?

Is it about e-peen, showing who's got the longest friends list?

Maybe it's about me. I really AM that anti-social geek I claim to be. Others... not so very much.

I see a decline in substantial interesting posting from a lot of bloggers and I wonder if it has to do with their excessive tweeting. When you tweet all day long maybe you run out of words? (Of course you're an exception if you're that deep into tweeting and still manage to post the way you do.)

Exactly what kind of interesting conversations am I missing by not being on twitter? Maybe you could help out and just republish a summary of it with the tweets that were worth reading every week so I can keep up without having to wade through all the junk tweets?

Just a humble request from a clue-less non-twitterati.
