Usually I’d expect some sort of compromise to start being suggested at that point? Not that one side just stops?

My herald is currently called Quennie (it’s too obvious with a K and this sounds a little useless). He’s some uncle’s cousin’s sister’s third aunt twice removed’s son and I had no choice but to give the little sod a job.

He’s not too bad so far and I almost never get him killed.

in my guild we were always of the opinion that there’s no more than 2-3 people that should be talking (ontopic) on vent most of the time – corpseruns and bios being an exception ofc.

our raids quality always went downhill when we didn’t hold to that. it can be fun too, but I prefer it for more casual raids / 10mans etc. like you said, not everyone can focus or multitask in the same way.

one summer some years ago we ran a couple of raids in MH with another guild whose guys were constantly chatting and joking about their own little jokes – I was ready to jump off a cliff after the first week together, lol x)

I have noticed that some captains use their banners to communicate. I did wonder at the one I saw named GrumpyCaptain last night.
