I really like the way the regular mobs go attack the invading elementals. It's always kind of bothered me that mobs just ignore each other and only attack PCs. On the one hand, the regular mobs attacking the elementals is more realistic. On the other hand, the fact that this behavior contrasts with the normal behavior of mobs really helps make the elemental invasion feel more dangerous and troubling.

I've been having a great time with this. The event itself has been a real blast and it's actually felt like we're fighting off a large invasion, much like the WotLK event felt at it's height.

Everyone gathering in a huge army front of the gate for the next invasion.

Someone wondering if we realised they weren't charging in through main gate.

Everyone telling that person to shut up.

I am also enjoying the elemental invasion. There's something to be said for being able to be on a 80 main to help protect Stormwind and switching to a low-level alt and being urged to leave Stormwind as another invasion is about to commence. The best however is then being able to take that alt and run to Westfall and, as a level 14 lock, participate in destroying level-equivalent elementals and rifts there. Great fun for one and all!

I think it's actually really cool. I love how the elemental invasion is affecting all zones, and not just the high level ones. On the paladin (which I'm levelling at the moment), I felt as if I was naturally running into invasions as I was questing.

Just hope people aren't too hung up on achievements (which Larisa was blogging about yesterday) to enjoy the event.
