((A sith warrior and jedi consular from my beta weekend – does this robe make my bum look big? YES!!)) After playing a bit (*coff*) this weekend, I’m very positive about the game. Star Wars: The Old Republic is a well executed themepark style MMO in the WoW mould – I’m looking forwards to playing [...]

Brief post: Tobold commented earlier this week that he feels that the Facebook model for gaming is broken. Tami Baribeau gives a more detailed analysis of why she feels Facebook games are an unsustainable business strategy. But there was plenty of open world PvP. It just meant that some areas were designated for PvP and others weren’t, and there [...]

As regular readers have probably noticed, the blog is in a go-slow period at the moment. This is partly because I’m crazy busy at work (but in a good way) and mostly because my MMO playing is mostly on hiatus until next month when SWTOR is released. I have been dabbling in MUSHdom again though, [...]
Thought of the Day: Duelling new players?
Posted in general mmo, tagged duel, newbie on November 5, 2011 | 18 Comments »
In some games (like WoW) when you head to a prime newbie zone, chances are that you will be inundated for requests to duel. Many of these requests will be from characters many levels higher than the newbies for whom the zone was designed. I definitely remember creating new characters in WoW and being challenged [...]
