Mostly it is awesome for situations like the post I made today. I use tons of right aligned/wrapped images with 15 pixel left gutter and centered images, all with borders. In addition I just upload the images raw, keeping them full size and resize to 450 for full width images, and 190 for right-side images.

That would have been a nightmare to lay out by hand in WordPress, and involved a fair amount of resizing images in photoshop ahead of even starting. I could have done it, but Live Writer lets me lay things out the way I actually want them, and see it in the same color scheme and font sizes as it will actually look when posted. This all helps me stop thinking about the layout, and just think about what I am writing.

I find it a much better editor when you are importing images than the WordPress basic one, it’s just that much easier for me to prepare posts offline. YMMV.

I don’t really see the point to SEO in a hobby blog, but if it’s an interest of yours then go for it. I find that very optional.

Got a question regarding Livewriter. I installed it yesterday and played around with it for a bit. I just don’t see much of an advantage using it. In the end, I’ll still have to switch to the WordPress editor and do some SEO stuff or change some more post related settings. And I just don’t like having to change tools right in the middle of things. It’s bad enough that writing the post is just two thirds of the job and more time needs to be spend on meta information like SEO

Yeah at this point I have no clue if I am a newbie or a sponsor hehe. But it is a great cause. BlogAzeroth got me my start, if not for that supportive group I never would have really started blogging. Great to have a general focused support group.
