Wait what? I read that you "went there" (someone has to!) but didn't see much about rogues and WoW? Oh the one little bullet point around WoWInsider.

My level 90 rogue is collecting dust at the moment. I leveled a Warrior up to 85 in short time though - that toon is a lot of fun. I like the movement permitted, namely Charge. It's a pretty simple and amusing class. Not that Rogues aren't simple, Warriors just look better, wear plate and get to lug around massive weapons.

India mythology based MMO or even RPG would be interesting so long as it was done right and didn't make a lot of assumptions about the target audience knowing what is what. I know very little about India short of my last job was off-shored there. And they seem to have a lot of days off.

Rogue's have got a couple of issues

Firstly, they're very well designed class, especially from a designer perspective. In fact, they were the only well designed class in Vanilla. Energy and combo points are a seriously great idea. This might not seem like a problem but it's meant that firstly, every time a less well designed has needed a redesign, the interesting parts of rogue design have been palmed off on them. Only made with half decade or more of improvements. Along with a lot of other rogue toys.

The good design has also meant that they haven't gotten a good going over like every other class has. Rogues have essentially been the same class since vanilla. They haven't really gotten the cool new toys or the creakier parts of their design looked at since they aren't broken, per se. So apart from the Legendaries, there hasn't really been the period of 'Woo, New Hotness' that other classes have gotten to boost their numbers and being not particuarly good the same patch DK's came out did not help.

The other one is that they aren't very flashy in terms of how they do stuff. Which is why Paladins, for example, get played even when they're a bit crap. Their 'coolness' factor was topping the meters and now they can't do that, your strongest visual is little swirly thing around when you do Slice and Dice.

I'd also like to blame the loss of Agility Swords.

I leveled my rogue to 90, at which point he became my miner/herber, so I feel uniquely qualified to expound on the state of rogues. In cataclysm rogues were fun. The rotation was simple and effective, and you had lots of energy. That last one seems to have gone right out the window in MoP. You find yourself waiting and waiting to use an SS, meaning the fights go on forever. Eviscerate hits for something less than an SS crit. You are always having to refresh SnD--the glyph was removed. IMO, boosting energy regen, taking the energy cost off of finishers, and just scrapping SnD (these short term combat buffs are one of the most annoying parts of WoW) would do wonders for the playability. Fights near max level were beginning to become a chore. Mind you, this is all for combat spec, as I have no idea about the others.

The thing about CRZ is that it didn't actually fix the problem of low-pop servers. In fact, due to AH segregation it largely exacerbated them. Only applying to the older zones means that whatever benefit of having other people around ends at max level, and you are then stuck on a server with no people and no AH or ability to farm old-world goods. Why Blizzard is so wedded to it I don't know, though I suspect it is solely because they spent a lot of time developing it.
