So how is patch 4.0.1 treating everyone? I had to do a complete reinstall so haven’t had a lot of time to check out the actual patch itself.
I did wander into Thrall’s throneroom in time to catch a conversation between Thrall, Garrosh, Vol’jin and Eitrigg in which Thrall informs them that he’s going to Nagrand to investigate elemental issues and leaving Garrosh in charge. I was too dozy to take screenshots, but a poster on mmo-champion captured more of the event.
In any case, Blizzcon is next weekend (Oct 22-23), which is the traditional venue for Blizzard to make any large announcements about upcoming expansions and products. I think it’s expected that they’ll unveil the launch cinematic for Cataclysm and at least one more class for Diablo III (paladin perhaps).
But is there any other announcement that you would like to see?
I’m hoping for a lot more information about the online/ battle.net side of Diablo III. I’d like to see some kind of an auction house, and to see whether they are going to deliberately converge it more with MMO type playing styles. After all, hanging around in battle.net chat until you find a group for Scene X isn’t all that different logistically from hanging out in Dalaran while you wait for LFG to zone you into an instance …

I’m afraid to say I’m mainly interested in Diablo 3 now. I’ll probably give Cataclysm a miss.
As for Diablo 3 the only thing I’m interested in is the release date. Oh and a permadeath option. For all it’s faults as a design feature I really enjoyed myself playing Hardcore mode last time round.
I’m also interested in some Diablo III news. A release estimate would be nice, perhaps some details on a collector’s edition, maybe how Battle.net will work with it.
In order of interest:
* The next Blizzard MMO
* Diablo 3 info
* Diablo 3 Release Date
* Any new games they’re working on
* WoW news

I want them to let us know that D3 is shipping with a LAN mode, they robbed us of it in Starcraft 2(one of the reasons I didn’t buy it), so I hold little hope that Diablo will have it but I can hope.
Diablo 3 Info . They don’t actually have to give an exact release date, a YEAR of release would be sufficient (i.e. 2011,2012 or 2013) .
I’m also not that interested in Cataclysm news, because it’s pretty much here anyhow and i’m tired of hearing about it tbh.
Even the “new” MMO should be limited to a cool movie if they do not intend to release it by 2012. Too much MMO marketing so far in advance is wearing me out. The same goes for SW:TOR which is really starting to get to a point where i’m actually bored of the game [feels like i’ve been grinding advanced classes] before it is out….Guildwars 2 is going that route too and people say it’s not even releasing in 2011…*sigh* .
Looks like they’ll be releasing the Catsclysm cinematic footage during…um…an…American footable game. 😦
…this is like releasing a tampon advert during a professional wrestling broadcast, IMO. Why not Dr. Who…or something like that, Blizz? And I am not sure the type of audience they’re appealing to is the one I want to end up PuG’ing Heroics with eventually. Just saying…
On the EU site they just announced that they’re showing it in the UK just after a football match as well. I guess it shows who they think their players are (a more sensible approach tbh would have been to show it just after The X Factor.)
